Colorpuncture

I was introduced to colorpuncture by a Lisa Hanfileti, LAc at Points of Origin. I was fascinated when she said that was her interest. I hadn’t heard about it before and she told me that colorpuncure worked on the subtle psychological level of the person. I was hooked. She agreed to let me read her thesis paper on the subject and after that I had to have it done.

I went in for my colorpuncture first treatment. Now, I have to admit that I am very shy. The hardest part of building my acupuncture business was going out to approach people and telling them that this is what I do. Anyway, after talking to a friend about building up referrals, I realized that I needed to contact other professionals for regular referrals. As I drove home from my first colorpuncture treatment, I passed a chiropractic clinic with a “grand opening” sign. I had seen them a couple of times and thought that they had a great location. I went home, changed into something less comfortable and drove back to the building. I walked in. Introduced myself. I handed the man some cards and asked for some of his and talked about mutual referrals. During this time, I wasn’t shaky, I wasn’t afraid. I was just standing there talking. A part of me was watching thinking I can’t believe this is me! I walked out of that building feeling GREAT. I wasn’t even nervous or scared, I just did something that I had to do. Since that treatment I have been back for many more and it continues to open doors and help me create new changes in my life.

What is colorpuncture?

Well, colorpuncture uses different colored lights held at different points on the body to effect change in the energy field. Why light? It is based on the premise that cellular communication is done through different frequencies in the light spectrum. To our eyes those frequencies show up as different colors. By places the lights at specific points on the body, we tell different areas to either work harder or to stop working so hard.

Dr. Peter Mandel is a German Naturopath and colorpuncture is his creation. There are two main teachers in the United States, and they have a website at colorpuncture.com. They explain what their medicine does and where to get training for those who are interested.

I think the biggest contribution that colorpuncture has in medicine right now is that it is a way that we can communicate on the cellular level. I think that the more we can communicate on the micro level the greater changes we make. It’s sort of like art programs on a computer. If I am seeing the big picture and want to change the line on a face I can try and do that, but it might be imprecise. If I can zoom into the program and make the change at the level of the pixel, I can effect a much more precise change with far less effort and in far less time.
